I'm Mikias Berhane
Learning everything about how we can work along with nature

I'm a student, and visionary technologist, dedicated to creating computing systems that work with the goal of creating self-sustaining systems. My goal is to develop technologies that not only minimize harm to our planet but actively contribute to its ever-adaptive cycle.
With a background in computer science, I'm continously learning about the four primary STEM subjects through the lens of nature.
My Personal Vision
Sustainable Materials
Developing hardware using biodegradable and recyclable materials, eliminating reliance on non-renewable resources.
Nature-Powered Energy
Harnessing energy from natural sources like microbial fuel cells, photosynthesis, and kinetic energy from the environment.
Eco-Friendly Software
Creating efficient algorithms and AI models that minimize energy consumption and actively contribute to environmental analysis.
Regenerative Computing
Designing systems that actively improve ecosystems, turning waste into resources and integrating with natural cycles.
Biomimicry in Design
Learning from nature's patterns and strategies to create more efficient and sustainable computing architectures.
Open Collaboration
Fostering a global ecosystem of contributors committed to sustainable computing through open-source initiatives.
Projects
Mycelium Computer Case
Developing a biodegradable computer case using mycelium, which can be composted at end-of-life.
Sustainable Materials
Circular Design
Algae-Powered Laptop
Prototyping a laptop that uses algae-based batteries for sustainable, long-lasting power.
